ABOUT JULIA USHER MEMORIAL JEWELLERY

Julia Usher specialises in ashes Into memorial jewellery and creating truly personal handmade memorial jewellery from her workshop in Staffordshire.

Ashes Into Memorial jewellery creates truly personal memorial jewellery collections. Julia enjoys working in sterling silver and using other materials like resin and often combines traditional jewellery bench skills with computer-aided design. Julia Usher is passionate about jewellery manufacture as jewellery making runs in her family. Julia unknowingly picked up the family trade after a lapse of two generations; she discovered her jewellery family history when she was studying to become a jewellery designer and silversmith at the Birmingham school of Jewellery back in 2002

Julia specialises in creating sentimental keepsake memorial jewellery. Julia works closely with you, the customer taking your loved one's ashes or hair and imprinting them into sterling silver. This creates a wonderful subtle texture onto the silver. Every piece in the memorial jewellery collection can be personalised by adding birthstones. Exact copies of your loved one's handwriting can also be laser engraved onto your special commemorative piece. These truly special pieces are little treasures that enable you to you keep the memories of your loved one close to you.

In 2004 after graduating, she set up Julia Usher Jewelleryand has been fortunate to make and design many unusual and exciting pieces of jewellery including tie pins for the male choir Only Men Aloud, Cufflinks for the Dean of Lichfield and jewellery for local TV presenters.

She also undertakes commissioned work. Her skills also enable her to take a customer's brief and transform an idea, photo, sketch, or dream into reality. She loves working with customers old unwanted pieces of jewellery to create a completely new and exciting designs. She works in all metals including platinum and titanium and has over 10 years experience in creating wedding rings, engagement rings and bespoke bridal jewellery. She often uses computer aided design during the design process. This allows the customer to be involved in all stages of the design and manufacture process. Hence the final piece of jewellery is exactly what you are looking for.

Along with her commissioned work she also hand crafts unusual collections of sterling silver jewellery. Her current collection is based around nature and the skeletons of leaves. All of her collections can be personalised to the customers requirements. Personal engraved messages can be added and specific birthstones can be used. All of her work is hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay office with her family’s historic sponsor mark SUL. Her handmade leaf collection can be viewed in her online shop, etsy shop and at at her retail worksop in Burton On Trent.
