I have been making jewellery from the age of 12, I started out helping my mother who was a lapidary. She tumbled rough stones and made them into pretty things to wear.
I studied art and design at college and have been creating ever since. I am self taught and am constantly learning and developing my skill set, there is always more to learn.
Where I can all jump rings I use are hand coiled on various sized mandrels and cut with precision by myself, each weave is created one ring at a time with a great deal of time and patience. The finished piece is then tumbled to clean and then tumbled to polish then given a final polished finish.
Chainmaille is one of the earliest forms of metal armour. The oldest piece of maille armour that can be accurately dated is more than 2,700 years old. It was discovered in the graves of Celtic warriors. Earlier evidence of chainmaille has been found in graves from the 5th century BC in Scythia (an area between Europe and Asia). Although most historical chainmaille is armour, jewellery techniques were also used by cultures as diverse as the Vikings and the ancient Egyptians.
Chainmaille can be made from virtually any material that can be formed into a circle. This includes most metals as well non-traditional jewellery materials such as rubber.
The number of known patterns is impressive: More than 1,000 weaves are documented on M.A.I.L. (Maille Artisans International League). Most of these modify basic patterns, but each weave is distinct. Today's weavers still create new patterns, from simple chains to intricate, fabric-like sheets.

Sanctuary Studio specialises in chainmaille jewellery made from Stainless Steel, Titanium, Bronze, Jewellers Brass, Copper and Anodised and Bright Aluminium
occasionally adding artisan crafted cabochons and lamp-work beads and natural semi-precious stones to some designs.
I use ethically sourced materials and semi-precious stones whenever possible. I also re-use and up-cycle older beads and jewellery into my designs.
I also branch out and add cold forged and wire wrapped pieces to my collections.

Items will be packaged carefully and securely, proof of postage will be obtained.
All Items will be shipped Royal Mail First Class, Insurance will be provided.
Non-UK packages will be shipped by Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed with Insurance provided.
Custom Orders
Custom Orders will be subject to a non-refundable 50% deposit.unless paid in full when ordering.

Once a custom order has been confirmed either verbally or in writing, please understand that no changes can be made to it.
We will then contact you via e-mail when your item is available and final payment is due if necessary..

To fulfil your chainmaille jewellery order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised PayPal to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order of handcrafted chainmaille jewellery or supplies, for example), if you contact me directly.
If you wish to sign up to my mailing list I take screen shots of designated posts where you signed up for this or I retain your message where you gave me your details for the list I manage on mail chimp you can unsubscribe at any time, I take screenshots (for the purpose of GDPR) and store in my Phone/Pad which is password protected and delete posts to protect privacy. Please note if you choose to leave your contact details on my page feed or in my FB group , these are a public forum and it may be seen by the general public - I suggest that you message me with your details for better data protection

• PayPal invoice (applicable if you buy from me via Facebook or privately). I share information with Paypal as necessary to provide you my services and comply under my obligations under the PayPal Seller Policy and Terms of Use
• Facebook (applicable if you buy from me via Facebook). In providing me information over Messenger you acknowledge that this information cannot be deleted. However the information is only available to me and kept password protected.
• Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, these are Royal Mail and other well known delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
• Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
• Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

Returns Policy
If you are genuinely unhappy with your purchase, we are happy to refund the cost of the item only, You, the buyer, are responsible for return postage.
The item must be returned with the same amount of packaging as it arrived in to ensure its safe return, We will not issue a refund on an item that comes back without sufficient packaging that has resulted in the item being broken or damaged.
If your item arrives damaged please contact us with a photo of the said damage before the item is returned.
For UK customers, the item must be returned within 14 working days of shipping
For International customers the item must be returned within 30 working days of shipping.
Unless Faulty or Damaged in transit, the following items are non-refundable:
