Nix Aeterna

Originally a lighting designer by profession, Nick has always derived great satisfaction from using tools and technology to creative effect (he enjoys making electronic music, too) - this is what has driven his passion for designing and making jewellery, since he started in 2014.

All items are handmade by Nick alone, using techniques learnt from evening classes and home study. The silver is cut by hand, components are assembled and soldered with a hand held gas torch and any stones are hand set with bezel pushers and burnishers.

Although some items are produced in small batches, many are one-off pieces, which will never be exactly repeated.

In the UK, any item containing more than 7.78 grams of silver must carry a hallmark, if it is to be legally sold as sterling silver. All except the smallest items have been independently tested and hallmarked by the London Assay Office, even some which are below the exemption weight.

Nick is a member of the Guild of Jewellery Designers

NixAeterna is owned and run by Nick Cooke - a semi-professional jewellery maker, based in Orpington, Kent, UK

The Shift in Global Marketplaces

What's been quietly lost in the rush to scale.

Loss of Originality

Large online marketplaces have shifted toward mass-produced, generic, factory-line products, making it difficult to find unique, handmade items.

Quality Concerns

Relaxed verification standards on major platforms have led to issues with material integrity, such as fake silver, cheap base metals, and chipping platings.
