Jewellery by Nicola was established in 2014 by me, Nicola. I work from home in Bournemouth by the seaside where I live with my Husband, Son and dog called Bert.

I had been creating jewellery for the past 10 years and having a baby meant that I took the plunge and established a business rather than returning to my previous role in Insurance. 

Having gone through the exciting changes of pregnancy and then having a wonderful newborn to care for and love I found myself wanting to capture memories and turned to the thought of having his handprints put onto something to keep. After some experimentation I found that I was able to create myself Mummy Jewellery out of Artclay Silver which is 99% pure silver. It’s an exciting and involved process which results in a beautiful piece of wearable jewellery that is completely individual and personalised for every customer – no two items are the same and there is no limit to the number of pieces you can make from the same prints! Keyrings, cufflinks, pendants, charms – you name it! Knowing that I can do this for other parents gives me a great feeling of job satisfaction.

My pet pooch Bert has also inspired me to make unique gifts for dog lovers too and even gifts for cat lovers too if you can pin them down to get the imprint!

I also make special pieces of silver jewellery for other occasions such as uniqe mother’s day gifts or extra special flower girl gifts & christening gifts, using techniques such as Etching, silversmithing and working with sterling silver and Artclay Silver.

I lovingly handcraft every piece of personalised jewellery keepsake myself using a mix of Sterling Silver and Art Clay Silver. Art Clay Silver is a modelling material made by combining pure silver particles with an organic binder which, when fired, becomes 99.9% solid silver.

I use high quality Sterling Silver findings, Swarovski crystals and try to source my items with an ethical approach. The finished items are presented to you in a purple velvet drawstring pouch.

Once you have made your selection I will send you either an Inkless Wipe Kit or an Impression Kit.

Silver Handprint, Footprint and Pet Print Jewellery
The Inkless Wipe Kit contains full instructions for you to take your childs’ or animals prints. The wipes are simple to use and are safe for even the smallest babies.

If you already have some prints you would like to use, these can usually be scanned and emailed over; quality permitting. If you would like to do this then please advise me when placing your order.

Silver Fingerprint Jewellery
The impression kit contains a special moldable plastic and full instructions. This allows you to take the print in your own time, and in the comfort of your own home. Each kit contains a piece of thermo-mouldable plastic. If you are unhappy with the print you can simply re-mould the plastic in hot water and have another go!
Please do be aware that children less than 1 year of age have a very faint print so the best prints come from older children and adults.

Silver Scribbles
If you have a work of art that you would like to keep with you forever then you can either scan this and email it to me or post it to me. I will of course return the masterpiece once completed.

Once your prints have been completed to your satisfaction, simply indicate which print you would like me to use and send the mould back to me in the prepaid envelope and I will start work on your masterpiece!

How long will it take?
It will take approximately 2-3 weeks for each piece to be crafted from the date I receive your prints.

What happens if I need another Inkless Wipe Pack?

If for any reason, you need another inkless wipe kit, they are available to purchase in my shop.
