I lived in one of the most beautiful corners of the world, in Belfast, Maine on Penobscot Bay on the Atlantic Ocean, when I first opened my Etsy shop over a decade ago.

On long beach walks with my eager canine companion--then with my young son as well--I rediscovered my childhood passion of collecting sea glass and beach pottery shards.

I love the romance and mystery of these wave-and-sand-worn pieces of the past, and wondering about their origins and the long journey that brought them ashore.

A bit like myself, they have often traveled many miles across the ocean (I now live in the United Kingdom, happily still surrounded by water :)

Humble shards of broken bottles and other glassware, sometimes hundreds of years old, have gradually been fashioned into the smooth, frosted, sea-coloured gems I enjoy hand-picking from the shorelines of Northeast England, the west coast of Scotland, and of course mid coast Maine.
