How Odissa Works

Become A Seller

Odissa is an online jewellery and arts and crafts marketplace run by The Guild of Jewellery Designers where visitors to the site can buy quality products direct from a growing, diverse range of independent designer/makers. It incorporates individual e-tail 'outlets' with full register, browse-and-buy functionality. Designer/maker members of The GoJD and The British Pearl Association alongside retailer members of The Guild of Jewellery Retailers sell online through a single, secure online store with each designer having their own products, orders, shipping, taxes, dashboard and much more. The Guild of Jewellery Designers do not sell the products listed on Odissa but provide a platform on which trader members sell their products direct to the consumer.

**Please be aware that now the UK has left the EU, anyone purchasing from outside the UK may be charged customs and VAT duties as their items enter their own country. These duties are set by the government of each country and are outside the control of UK designer/makers**

Is Odissa a UK Alternative to Etsy?

Not by any stretch of the imagination! :-) The platform was created as a benefit for subscribing Gold members of The Guild of Jewellery Designers and Retailers and The British Pearl Association as a channel to sell their handcrafted products and help to maintain and grow 'cottage' industry in the face of cheap foreign imports.

Choice and Value for money.

Each of our designers are passionate about their work and are constantly evolving new designs and techniques. Odissa exists as part of The Guild of Jewellery Designers to help promote independent designer/makers and as such receives a small percentage from the designers to help fund the site, enabling the designers to receive more for their work.

Traditional high street outlets typically markup stock by between 2 and 5 times the original manufacturing price, the Odissa way ensures that the designer receives a fair reward for their work.

Contact a Designer

Designers can be contacted directly through Odissa using the 'Contact Designer' link at the bottom of the individual designers profile or product pages or the 'Contact' link on the designer left hand menu. Clicking on the 'Products' link on the left Designers profile menu, allows you to view everything they have at leisure.

Orders placed through Odissa pass directly to the designer, making them your point of contact for any returns, refunds or queries you may have about your purchase.

Applying to sell on Odissa does not automatically guarantee acceptance by us. We like to see products that are well photographed and presented and it is down to our discretion as to whether we think your products will fit. If a product looks as if it has been mass produced we may contact you for further information or clarification as to the origin.

As an agent, we are offering members a service; a tried, tested and trusted route to market, however we are not here specifically to sell for you. Sales will occur through our channels but you must understand that our service is to act as the agent providing a sales platform to market and sell while your responsibility is to generate interest in your brand & increase your profile.

Please enjoy your visit to Odissa

Online marketplaces are excellent venues to find examples of specialist products in one place and, as such, becoming increasingly popular so, have fun and please spread the word! :-)
