CAPIVARA sterling silver necklace

SIZE: Pendant measures roughly 26mm/ 1in long x 17mm/ 0.7in wide x 1.4mm/ 0.6in thick. It is 45cm / 17.7in long. It can be made shorter or longer if you wish.

This necklace is made in 925 sterling silver, inspired by prehistoric paintings. It features a family, and was based on an existing similar painting.

The drawing was grooved in the metal before being oxidized, while the surface was brushed finished to add interest and contrast.

It has thick (slightly distressed) leather string on a magnetic clasp. It is very easy to wear and take off (but doesn't fall off easily).

Each piece is individually made to order, so there will be slight variations to it's design/shape - making it absolutely unique and special! You can also mix & match shapes and/or designs from this collection, order a different piece featuring your own design, or get me to custom make an item for you! The Capivara Collection: I was always fascinated by cave paintings, whose unpretentious beauty can tell so much about our ancestors (and ourselves), through a few succinct strokes.

Probably unbeknown to many, my native Brazil is also home to a vast collection of said prehistoric art. Most of them (over 6000 paintings) can be found surrounded by the breathtaking views of (UNESCO World Heritage Site) Serra da Capivara National Park, and I named my collection after it.
