CAPIVARA sterling silver oxidized brushed brooch

SIZE: The brooch measures roughly 38mm/1.5in wide x 32mm/1.3in high x 1.4mm/0.1in thick.

I made this brooch in 925 sterling silver, inspired by prehistoric paintings.

It features a deer and you can see there the original painting where my design was based on.

It was grooved in the metal before being oxidized, while the surface was brushed finished to add interest and contrast. Each piece is individually made to order, so there will be slight variations to it's design/shape - making it absolutely unique and special! You can also order a different piece featuring your design, or ask for a different design that I can do myself!

The Capivara Collection: I was always fascinated by cave paintings, whose unpretentious beauty can tell so much about our ancestors (and ourselves), through a few succinct strokes.

Probably unbeknown to many, my native Brazil is also home to a vast collection of said prehistoric art, most of them (over 6000 paintings) can be found surrounded by the breathtaking views of (UNESCO World Heritage Site) Serra da Capivara National Park, and I named my collection after it.
