Sometimes gemstones can help each other to show off their best features. In this zircon ring in sterling silver, the main stone is a lovely dusky pink natural zircon. An accent of three little diamonds set opposite really bring out the best of the sparkle of this naturally bright stone.
The cut (faceted) main zircon gemstone measures 7mm diameter, and each of the accent diamonds approximately 2mm across. The ring size is UK size M-M1/2, and weighs approximately 5g. This particular piece is unique, but I have also used a similar design with different gemstones.
Zircon has very high lustre, giving it an impressive sparkle. It occurs in a variety of colours including red, brown, yellow and green, and heat treatment is also used to produce blue.
Zircon is one of the birthstones for December.
